The amount of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere has increased due to increased human activity in industry. After the industrial revolutions in the 18th and 19th centuries which has spanned across most of the globe the greenhouse gas emissions produced and increased a great deal, which has led many experts to believe that human activity has directly contributed the global warming.
There have been many scientific studies carried out by numerous experts and scientists, these have led to the conclusion that global warming is a fact and that man in contributing to it, however there is still a debate on how much is man contributing to global warming?
There are many human activities that contribute such as the burning of fossil fuels to drive our vehicles, as well as where we get our electricity from, which is derived from the burning of coals, natural gas and oil yields. These processes lead to huge amounts of CO2, which is a major contributor to global warming.
Experts believe that the burning of fossil fuels has accounted for three-quarters of the total CO2 emissions from human activity.
Methane gas is emitted when a bacterium decomposes organic material, around a quarter of all methane gas emitted from human activity is a result of the decomposition of manure and livestock.
Deforestation is another contributing cause of global warming, as industries increase it leads to global deforestation, trees breath in CO2 and breath our O2 (oxygen) back into the atmosphere, deforestation means there are less trees to breath in the CO2 so CO2 levels will increase.
