Solar activity has be monitored and measured by satellites over the last few decades. The suns output in radiation has increased over the last few years, many studies have shown which can be catastrophic to Earths climate and all life on earth. Solar variations occur due to differing levels of solar radiation emitted from the sun.
Until satellites were put in space we were unable to detect any solar output as the levels were below the threshold, it is thought that solar output varies from around 0.1% or about 1.3 W/m² peak-to-trough during the 11 year sunspot cycle.
Earths atmosphere received around 1,366 watts per square meter (W/m²). in solar radiation, there is no long term exact measurement of solar out put and variations and many scientists and measurements differ in their results, some reports have suggested a 0.1% increase others a 0.2% increase over the last 2000 years.
Solar magnetic activity can affect global climate through cosmic rays and can cause solar brightness variations.
